HERE IS THE STORY

It's a story that's getting attention around the nation. A teacher is accused of voting a child out of her classroom. Tuesday, the outraged mother spoke to Fox 29.Alex Barton: The 5 year-old autistic boy's day in kindergarten put to a vote. His mother, Melissa Barton, says, "He came to me and said, "Mommy, 14 kids voted me out of my class".His mother says teachers at Morningside Elementary told her this year her son had Aspberger's Syndrome. This causes him to be disruptive and, at times, he hums for up to 20 minutes and eats paper. It came to a head last Wednesday.

Another outburst landed him in the Principal's office. When he returned to class, his teacher, Wendy Portillo, admits she let the students decide if he could come back in. They took a vote. The count 2 for and 14 against, "I looked at Alex and asked, "How did it make you feel?" And he said, "Sad." And she looked at him and said, "No, it didn't!"Wendy Portillo has been a teacher in the district since 1995. We looked into her file with the St. Lucie School District. She got high marks year after year. One year her supervising administrator said, "She is a great asset to our school."Some parents like, Max Scarogni, back up her teaching record. "I've never heard one bad thing about her. I've been in this school for 6 years with my daughter, and everybody just loved her."Wendy Portillo is under investigation by the school district.

She has been taken out of the classroom. Now, awaiting her fate in St. Lucie County. The district says they have received More than 1,000 e-mails. Their investigation should wrap-up in about two weeksIn the meantime, Alex has not been back to class. We went by Portillo's home several times. At one point, we were told she was "laying low".

Bulk Reselling, Part Three: Storing And Managing Your Wholesale Inventory

As I sit here on this fine day In February of 2008 I wonder where the first two months of the year has gone. Are we always that busy that we actually do blink and life has literally passed us by? I was recently contacted about our 20th year high school reunion and have been working with my wonderful old high school chum's on getting supplies wholesale, working out webpage ideas etc... again I ask where the heck did the time go. It seemed just yesterday I was not sure I was going to graduate high school let alone write about being a bulk reseller 20 years later :) Either way it's been great getting back in touch with old friends, old foes and old flames. Never lose yourself in your business so much that you lose touch with life.

Okay enough of this sappy stuff let's get to business. Once you’ve placed an order with your chosen wholesale supplier, you’ll have a bit of time before the shipment arrives to determine where you are going to store your newly acquired bulk reseller items.

Depending on whether or not you’ve purchased something small (like Italian charm bracelets) or something larger (like computers) will determine on how much space you’ll need for your bulk reseller items. Also, some purchases (like clothing) may come in different sizes or colors which will need an organized space to store everything. Of course, if you’ve used a reputable dropshipper, I’d advise skipping this part of the series and moving on to Bulk Reselling, Part Four: Packing and Shipping Your Wholesale Items.

How and where you will receive your wholesale items? They may be loaded on a very large, heavy pallet that needs to be lowered from the back of the shipping truck, or they may be sent in smaller, more manageable boxes. Either way, you’ll need to know beforehand how the bulk wholesale items will be shipped, or else you may have a headache on your hands when the bulk reseller stuff arrives.

Once you’ve determined how you’ll receive and store the bulk reseller pieces, the next step is to create a warehousing system to keep all of the “same” items in one place. This will ease your packing, shipping and inventory management later, so don’t omit this very important step. Make sure to have a home for every different type of item you’ve ordered, and then create a diagram of the grand scheme of things so that you (and your helpers) can easily find everything in seconds.

Next, it’s time to create your inventory management system. You could just have a piece of paper and a pen next to your inventory items, with a list as to where items have been sent, but I’d recommend something a bit more technical for your business’ sake. Many bulk resellers create their own Excel spreadsheet for this purpose, and others use inventory tracking or auction management software (such as ChannelAdvisor or Andale) to simply the process.
Once you’ve completed these time-consuming but crucial steps in the bulk reselling continuum, you are ready to move on to Part Four of this series.

Bulk Reselling Part Two: Costing Out Wholesale Suppliers

Arguably the most important part of being a bulk reseller is locating (a) reliable wholesale supplier(s) that offers excellent customer service, support and prices. This usually means you’ll spend weeks surfing the Internet, bookmarking interesting companies and doing a tremendous amount of research to determine if the bulk reseller(s) in question have the wholesale supplies you are looking for.

Since bulk reselling means dropping a tidy chunk of change in one fell swoop, examine your cost-saving options carefully.

Some things to investigate are:
Payment OptionsCan you pay in 30, 60 or 90 days? With a credit card? Although not common with bulk resellers, some do offer dropshipping direct to each of your end users/customers. This feature can save you a tremendous amount of time, energy and money if you plan on selling any more than 10 of the same item.

Shipping Charges
These can differ widely depending on what you are purchasing and who you are purchasing from. Some liquidators even offer free shipping if you take a large enough sum of items off their hands.

Receiving: When and where will you receive these items?
If the bulk reseller shipment shows up while you are at work, how will you retrieve the items later? Also, where will you put it all when they are delivered? (This can also help you to decide what exactly you want to resell, but we’ll get into that aspect in another entry, later). Cost out some local self storage companies just in case.

Profit Considerations
Research each item you are looking at purchasing from a bulk reseller. Check online and see what other companies are selling the same (or similar) items for, and compare those prices to what you’ll be paying PER ITEM (including shipping charges and storage fees). If your per item cost is less than half of what everyone else is selling something similar for, you’ve got a winner.

After you’ve compared and constrasted bulk suppliers, you are ready to start creating a system to get the items you chose out the door and making you money.
